APPOINTMENT SYSTEMS
We operate a part open surgery / part booked appointment system. Open surgeries operate on Mondays and Fridays. You are allowed to walk in between 8.00am and 10.00am and wait to be seen by a Doctor without an appointment. At all other times an appointment only system applies.
These appointment times are normally between 8.00am - 10.00am and 2.00pm - 4.00pm.
1. You have the right to express a preference of doctor and when ever possible this will be adhered to but during the course of any one particular illness, please stay with one doctor throughout if possible.
2. If you cannot keep your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible so the time can be used by another patient. Please arrive promptly. We will endeavour to see you on time but your appointment may be cancelled if you arrive late. For persistent DNA's (DID NOT ATTEND) this could be addressed either by letter or inviting you in to discuss the matter.
If you require any urgent appointment because you consider your condition to be an emergency, you may be able to see a doctor that same day. Please be prepared to give details of your problem to the receptionist as this helps with deciding the degree of urgency. She will not be able to give you advice but may speak to the doctor so that he may decide on an appropriate time to see you. If you feel you need advice on a medical problem, you are welcome to telephone towards the end of surgery when you may leave a message which will be relayed to a professional who in turn will either ring you back or leave an appropriate message to be conveyed to you.

| Missed Appointments |

There were 80 missed appointments last month. This is equivalent to over 13 hours of Dr/Nurse time and equal to 5 empty surgeries. Please ensure that if you cannot keep your appointment you ring the surgery to cancel it, we can then offer it to someone else.

| To cancel an appointment |
If you cannot keep your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible so the time can be used by another patient.
